Dissent

Army Colonel Ann Wright, who retired in protest of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, will be speaking in Sacramento on October 17.

Wright, formerly with the State Department, U.S. Army and Army Reserves, and now an anti-war activist, will visit Time Tested Books in Sacramento to talk about her new book, "Dissent: Voices of Conscience, Government insiders Speak out Against the War in Iraq."

Wright attended the screening of Empty Streets at the annual Veterans for Peace national conference in St. Louis this spring.

Because Wright is as an ex-government employee and her book is about government affairs, her book needed State Department clearance in order to be published, Time Tested Books announced on its Web site. Wright is scheduled to be a guest on Capital Public Radio's Insight, a locally focused public affairs program.
